IPL 2021 Mumbai Indians SWOT Analysis

In IPL 2021 Mumbai Indians has a powerful batting line-up along with experience players . Bowlers have enough potential to make Mumbai Indians champion 6th time in the upcoming IPL.

Yet the not having quality spinners can become a big issue for Mi team in ipl 2021.

Here in this post, we have discussed all possible aspects of Mumbai indians team like strength and weaknesses.

Mumbai INDIANS Strength in IPL 2021

After winning the trophy in 2019, Mumbai won again in 2020 when the lucrative league was relocated to the United Arab Emirates due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The win was built on the strength of the team – its core has stayed the same over the years, and this is one of the main reasons the team has dominated the race.

MI hits are their greatest strength and they have a solid opening pair in the form of captain Rohit Sharma and South African Quinton De Kock. If necessary, they have an option on Australian batsman Chris Lynn.

The increasingly better Surya kumar Yadav, the young Ishan Kishan, who both starred on their debut in India, the Pandya brothers – versatile Hardik and Krunal – and the West Indian Kieron Pollard form a very strong middle order.

In front of the fast bowling alley, the team has one of the best in Jasprit Bumrah, and the Indian driver would love to drive again after a break in play.

The newcomer from last season, the New Zealander Trent Boult, has proven himself with power play shutters, also in the grand finale.

Add in Nathan Coulter-Nile from Australia and it becomes a great rhythm attack.

Weakness of MI TEAM in IPL 2021

If IPL 2020 had taken place in India, MI might have been able to take over its current spin division, but in the UAE they could be suspended by senior spin players.

Rahul Chahar and Krunal Pandya are expected to be the only two aberrations in the XI, and both can run more efficiently than the shutters. MI could have used a stranger who depends on flight and cunning to get the shutters instead of Krunal and Chahar, who fly fast through the air and are not giant ball spinners.

MI’s options on the bench are Jayant Yadav and Anukul Roy, who played 12 games and 1 match respectively. Even after Lasith Malinga, the biggest wicket taker in IPL history, was eliminated from the tournament for personal reasons, the team’s management decided to replace him with Australian player James Pattinson.

The lack of depth of MI in the spin department can make up for that at IPL 2020.
