Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by six runs in a thrilling match to register their second win.

Royal Challengers Bangalore lost the toss and elected to bat first and scored 149 runs at the Chetak Stadium in Chennai. Chasing the target, Sunrisers Hyderabad managed to score only 143 runs and achieved the target by losing 9 wickets.

David Warner won the toss and invited Bangalore to bat first. Bangalore did not get off to a good start at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai and Devdutt Padal was dismissed for 19. Skipper Virat Kohli (33) also failed to play a big innings. However, Glenn Maxwell (59) stayed at one end and took the team’s score to a respectable score.

Bangalore scored 149 runs for the loss of eight wickets. Jason Holder took a maximum of three wickets and Rashid Khan took two wickets in the bowling for Sunrisers.

Chasing the target, Hyderabad did not get off to a good start and Wriddhiman Saha returned to the pavilion cheaply.

However, David Warner (54) and Manish Pandey (38) then put together a crucial partnership to put the team in a strong position. At one point the match looked in sunrisers’ grasp but the team’s problems increased after Warner was dismissed in the 14th over.

Shehbaz Ahmed then stopped the match completely in the 17th over of Bengaluru.

He dismissed Bairstow and Manish Pandey in two consecutive balls in the over and then sent Abdul Samad to the pavilion on the last ball. He took three wickets for one run in the over.

Sunrisers failed to recover from here and then completely shattered. Rashid Khan (17) struggled in the last over but it was not enough.

Shahbaz Ahmed was the most successful bowler for Bengaluru. He took three wickets for seven runs in two overs.

The sixth match of the 14th season of the Indian Premier League will be played between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Devdutt Padikkal and AB de Villiers scored half-centuries while Yuzvendra Chahal took 3 wickets to lead the team to victory.

In the second match, Hyderabad defeated Bengaluru 120/7 to win in 14.1 overs for the loss of 5 wickets. Both the teams are facing each other for the third time in the eliminator. RCB were bowled out for 131 in the match. Hyderabad won the match by six wickets.
